Solar Power is also commonly refered to as Solar Energy, which is (putting it simply) energy from the Sun. This is a form of natural energy, which is clean and does not hurt the enviroment like other types of energy. At this stage in time Solar Power is used in two main ways, and energy source and a heating source. As an energy source, thousands of people and homes benefit from using solar power for their elctricity. Solar power used this way is called Photovoltiac Conversion which uses certain special types of materials panels to create electricity f rom the sun. Photo meaning allowing light and voltiac meaning producing electrical currents or electricity, so if you put it all together you get electrical energy when exposed to light. When light hits these two layers, one becomes negatively charged while the other becomes positively charged. When a wire connects the two ends, an electrical current is produced. The second source of Solar Power is known as Solar Thermal Conversion which is a system that uses mirrors or reflectors that magnify sunlight to extremely high levels of heat. Solar meaning froma the sun and thermal meaning to heat and conversion meaning to change from one form to another.

Wind power is derived from the air and converted into mechanical energy, usually a turbine That is used either directly or to help create electricity. The advantages of using these natural powers are immense. Its Free after installation and the eqipment does not require any maintenance. both methods are very kind to the enviroment being having no green house gases meaning its all pollution free. The finacial savings are fantastic everyone loves to save on utilities! Both Solar Power and Wind energy are reliant on the weatherbut with modern technologythere is alot of progress happening in this area to make these systems more efficient. Solar energy can not be produces at night so other forms of power are still needed to compliment the use of solar power. With both Wind energy and Solar power it can get a bit noisy as alot of turbines and reflectors are required to make the energy that would be needed in any given area. Solar Power and Wind energy are the best option for power if you live say out on a farm or a remote area The pros more than out way the cons in regard to these types of power. Also they have become very affordable in recent times with government grants and also you can cut a lot off your power bill.
